Our very own Aaron Gallo has two entries in the We Love Fine Star Trek T-shirt Contest. For those who don’t know, this is the 2nd Star Trek design contest. The contest was such a success that they decided to do another one. Each people is able to submit up to 5 designs which are voted on by the We Love Fine users. Finalist will be judged by LeVar Burton who played Geordi La Forge and Matt Mira co-host the Nerdist Podcast. The Rating period of the contest is 8/20/2013 – 9/17/2013 and the winners will be announced on 9/24/2013.
Now we ask you for your help. Aaron needs all the votes he can to make his t-shirt designs a reality. After setting up a free account on welovefine.com you’ll be able to vote for his designs. The first design is a unique take on the Starfleet insignia and is accompanied by 4 rank pips. The second is a stylized version of the Vulcan IDIC symbol. Both designs were originally created in 3D using Blender, converted into a vector image using Inkscape and finally touched up using GIMP. Aaron is a big supporter of open source software and uses them on a daily basis.
